About the Artist

Susan Brackett is an accomplished designer with an eye toward the elegant, the unconventional and the playful. Her wearable art has been featured in Artizen Magazine and exhibited at shows and stores throughout Southern California. Each design is meticulously handcrafted using skilled beading techniques and exceptional, high quality materials to create statement pieces that are authentic and original. Designs are not mass-produced; many are one of a kind or limited editions while others are custom pieces commissioned by customers. In addition to beading and teaching techniques, Susan designs kits and downloadable patterns for beaders of all levels to try on their own. Finished pieces, kits and patterns are available through her website and online marketplaces.

Susan’s adept skill set began as a hobby over 40 years ago with sewing, tatting, embroidery and weaving techniques. Once she found bead embroidery and bead weaving, it grew into a passion and expression of her own unique design perspective. Susan’s style can be expressed as boho chic, art nouveau, modern vintage and fantasy. Influences of her Native American and European heritage can be seen as inspiration for many designs, while others are driven by their alluring materials including natural stones, rare minerals and fossils, hand-carved bones, vintage cabochons, lampwork beads and more. Susan proudly supports the art community and celebrates distinctive styles of art by often featuring unique, handcrafted materials from artists all over the world.
